NVIDIA Launches Quadro 4000 Graphics Card For Mac Pro

NVIDIA has announced the expansion of its graphic card Quadro 4000 for the Mac Pro. Aimed at professional users operating Mac Pro series, the Quadro falls in the middle of NVIDIA's professional lineup. And it is bringing the computational and visualization breakthroughs enabled by NVIDIA's latest feature Fermi architecture, boasting 256 CUDA-Compute Unified Device Architecture cores and 2GB of GDDR5 memory. The NVIDIA Quadro 4000 Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) for mac is optimized to accelerate the performance and bring a range of top professional applications.

Quadro 4000 is not only a graphics processor; it drives an entire visual supercomputing platform, incorporating hardware and software that enables advanced capabilities such as stereoscopic 3D, scalable visualization and 3D high-definition broadcasting.

After seeing a great performance from these Quadro 400 graphic cards, Ginna Baldassarre, Senior Product Manager at Adobe has stated that "Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 and the Adobe Mercury Playback Engine, accelerated by NVIDIA Quadro GPUs, have redefined the non-linear editing workflow, delivering huge productivity gains". And Bruno Nicoletti, Founder and CTO of The Foundry, has said that “The Foundry’s software has been used to help create visual effects for many Hollywood blockbusters, including ‘Avatar,’ ‘Alice in Wonderland,’ ‘Harry Potter,’ ‘Iron Man,’ ‘Star Trek,’ ‘District 9,’ ’2012,’ and ‘Transformers'". The Foundry is a leading developer of visual effects software for film and broadcast.

The minimum system requirements for the NVIDIA Quadro 4000 GPU include Mac OS X v10.6.5 or later with MacPro3,1, MacPro4,1 or MacPro5,1.
